Description
The Chevy 6.0L LS V8 Remanufactured Engine 1999–2000 is based on GM’s LS engine architecture, one of the most influential modern V8 engine families. Introduced in the late 1990s, the LS engine platform quickly became popular because of its compact design, durability, and strong performance capabilities.
The 6.0-liter version of the LS engine was developed primarily for heavy-duty truck applications where additional torque and durability were required. Early variants of the 6.0L engine were known by engine codes such as LQ4, which were commonly used in Chevrolet and GMC trucks.
This engine features a 6.0-liter displacement (364 cubic inches) and a traditional overhead valve pushrod design with two valves per cylinder. The engine uses a cast-iron engine block combined with aluminum cylinder heads to provide strength and efficient heat dissipation.
Remanufactured versions of this engine undergo a complete rebuilding process designed to restore factory tolerances and long-term reliability.
Where This Engine Is Used
The Chevy 6.0L LS V8 Remanufactured Engine 1999–2000 was commonly installed in GM trucks and utility vehicles produced around the turn of the millennium.

Every engine we sell is fully remanufactured to meet or exceed OEM specifications:
- Deep Clean – To start the remanufacturing process, every engine is fully disassembled and hot tanked (cast iron) or thermally cleaned (aluminum)
- Inspection – Magnaflux testing uses magnetic particles to inspect metal, checking for microscopic cracks and fissures that will cause long-term failure. All parts are visually inspected as well.
- Machining and New Parts – Deck surfaces are CNC machined and new parts are added. New parts inlcude bearings, pistons, rings, lifters, oil pump, gaskets, Viton™ valve seals, freeze plugs, galley plugs and either a new timing chain (with new tensioners) or a new timing belt (with new tensioner). If an engine has a timing-driven water pump, a new pump is installed.
- SIM Testing – Each engine is SIM tested after reassembly, with the cooling and oil systems being fully pressurized and the crank being spun at high RPM to verify compression and build quality.
Because of our rigorous remanufacturing process, we can offer the industry’s best warranties. Each engine comes with up to 7 years and 1 million miles of warranty, which can be upgraded to include Pure Care™ no-fault protection. No other engine manufacturer comes close.
